My Fortune = Your Good Fortune

Good afternoon!

Well, I was certainly surprised by the Brown Truck
man today with the receipt of this:

There was no note, or sender's information, other than:

So, thinking back, I am guessing that these items:
must be what I found out via this post on March 1st, 2011
that I won as part of that blog's contest.

Pure, honest conjecture on my part.

So ... I want to pass my fortunate receipt along
to one of you to become your good fortune.
(okay, all but the Sulky Thread ... I'm going to keep the
thread, like the color :) :) and it's verigated ;) ... )

I hereby promise if you win this giveaway, it will be promptly dispatched to you and unless you live overseas, I can guarantee you that it will not
take 3 and 1/2 months for you to receive it.

Call me old fashioned, but I believe in communication,
 correspondence, courtesy, promptness, and politeness.

Details and hoops to jump through are minimal ...
Please Read
one entry per person, please
please be one of Why Knot's followers, and let me know
answer either of the following questions,
(as I'd like to know for my inquiring mind):

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LINE OF FABRIC & WHO DESIGNS IT

OR

IF YOU HAVE TO REPLACE YOUR SEWING MACHINE WHAT WOULD YOU BUY?

and ... I will ship internationally.

I will close comments on Friday, June 17th at Midnight (Mountain Time)

That's it.

Happy Hugs and Warm Heart Wishes

EDIT:  I cannot send winner their notice if they
are a no-reply blogger ... (i.e.  Colleen, #2 comment),
so please be sure to leave contact info in your comment,
otherwise I will have to choose an alternate winner.

  1. If I had to replace my sewing machine, I would buy a Singer 301. There is nothing like those good old Singers with all their metal gears to sew a nice even, straight stitch. Call me old fashioned :)

  2. I love Moda Bliss by Camille! And I am replacing my sewing machine with a Babylock Sophia so I can do fancy stitching, machine quilting, and a little bit of embroidery. I just need to free it from layaway...

  3. Oh, aren't you a sweetie - you are only keeping the thread? Don't blame you - love Sulky threads and verigated to boot! Right now I have a love affair with ButterCup - Fig Tree by Joanna Figueroa - have used some of her other lines (using Strawberry Fields right now) but just love ButterCup.

  4. I'm still in love with Sunkissed by Sweetwater!!

  5. Isn't that amazing to take so long to get to you .... glad you are keeping some for your self and glad you are sharing the rest!!! I am a follower and if I was getting a new machine I would still need to do a lot of research... I only have a basic domestic but I want to do a lot more quilting.. maybe a Pfaff that doesn't have zillions of stitches I won't use..... well done if you have read all of this waffle.....haha

  7. My favorite fabric line is Moda Hideaway. I lived in Germany for 7 years, and some of the fabric in this line reminds me of the countryside with the potato wagons, red-roofed houses, deer, etc. I'll be glad when money quits being an issue (when I'm rich) and I can buy everything I want. These blasted things around the house keep tearing up (clothes dryer and now stove/oven) and I can buy fabric. I'm a fairly new quilter, so my stash is almost non-existent. Thanks for the giveaway.

  8. Thanks for the chance to share in your good fortune. My all time favorite is Pure and I've found myself stockpiling. In general, love fighter and sweetwater

  10. Well I just bought an Elna about 2 years ago but if I could afford another machine I wish I had waited for the Janome Horizon as I had a Janome before and love it. I have been following your blog for a while Wendy. I also love Fig Tree Fabric and would love to have some of new Strawberry Fields.

  11. If something happened to my machine I would call my mom and get one of hers - she "collects" sewing machines - probably one her 301s.

I don't usually go too crazy for an entire collection of prints but I LOVE Hoffman batiks.

  12. Gosh! I just got my sewing machine 2 years ago with found money.... but if I had to get another it would probably be another Pfaff and a step up... Quilt Expressions 4.0. Thanks for your generosity!! ps if I do win, it just might take 2 - 3 months for it to get to me but at no fault of your own... Canada has a postal strike going on!

  19. Oh Wendy I wouldn't want to replace my machine! I have a Janome 11000 and I love it but I wouldn't mind having the new Janome quilting maching (6800??) TOO. :) blessings, marlene

  20. Wow, aren't you absolutely sweet!

If I had to replace my machine...and I didn't have to pay for the new one...meaning I could choose anything I wanted...I would pick something with more room for quilting my own quilts. I just have little machines...and am too poor to send them out to be done, so for now, I get to do it myself. It is challenging.

However, I must say, I'm totally thankful for my machines! =)

As to fabric...I'm considering Central Park - the oranges....for an Orange Bee I've joined. So cute! =)

  22. If money were not one of the criteria I would go for a Janome MC11K (Special Edition). I love my Janome MC10000, but it's getting older and the 11K has added quilting functions that look really fun!

  26. Wow, I can't believe that it took so long to reach you or that you even remembered anything about where it may have come from. I can't say that I can pick a favorite line of fabric, I can only say that I love everything Moda, honestly I've never seen a line of theirs I didn't want.

  36. Wendy...looks like I actually get to comment today. I have been having such problems with blogger, but have been keeping up with you. Such a nice win for you and so nice of you to share. Well, I currently like Strawberry Fields by Fig Tree Quilts and Buttercup by Fig Tree. BUT, I also have recently bought a bunch of Sunkissed by Sweetwater. And I could go on and on...but I will spare you. :)

  38. wendy, thank you for your wonderful generosity! i am now a follower of your delightful blog. hmmmm if i were to replace my trusty mr. singer, i don't really know what brand of machine i would buy but i certainly know what features i would look for as i went "test sewing"! the first and foremost feature would be a LARGE (as in humongous) throat area for quilting!

  40. How neat to have the brown truck leave a package out of the blue! And how generous of you to share!

I don't play favorites... I just look for the colors I need for my current project. But if I ever need to replace my current sewing machine, it is certain that I will not be paying big bucks as I did for my current one and only big name machine. I will look for a very simple, well made machine because I use very few of these bells and whistles. Why did I think I needed them? tsk-tsk

    Thanks, Wendy.

    Thanks for the chance

ps: I must say that your blog background is so cool. You are lucky having the red relephone boxes on your screen. We can't see these anymore, exception of one or two in Scotland. Pity that part of English history and tradition is now gone.
